Shawn A. Wooden, LUTCF
Shawn A. Wooden provides complete financial and investment services for individuals, families, professionals, professional athletes, the self-employed and small to medium sized businesses. Wooden helps clients define their financial goals based on their values and creates strategies to help achieve those goals.
Prior to his career in Financial Services, Wooden had a successful career in the National Football League as a safety with the Miami Dolphins and Chicago Bears. His nine-year career from 1996 to 2004 ended with a back injury, forcing him to retire early. Wooden has received the Unsung Hero Award from the Miami Dolphins Alumni Association to honor a Dolphin player who might not have received the recognition he deserved during his playing days.
Wooden earned his bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Notre Dame where he was a captain of the football team. He earned the Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow (LUTCF) professional designation, as well as the Series 6, 7, 63, and 65 licenses. In addition, Wooden completed an Executive program for Retirement Planning at the Wharton School of Business.
Wooden is active in the community and professional organizations including “Court of the Table” membership in the Million Dollar Round Table, an international, independent association of more than 29,000 (or less than 1 percent) of the world’s life insurance and financial services professionals. He is an Honorary Board Member of the Broward County Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Past Co-Chairman of the March of Dimes Signature Chef event in Broward, and a Past Board Member for the Renaissance Village, which provides support and teaches life skills to young adults transitioning out of the foster care system in Palm Beach, Florida. Wooden is on the Ambassador Board for Nova Southeastern University and was also a founding member of the “Prudential No Passing Zone” program, which helped over 2,500 children from the Broward Boys & Girls Clubs attend Miami Dolphins home games during the season. He is also involved with the Make-A-Wish foundation, Habitat for Humanity, the United Way, Cystic Fibrosis, and the Miami Dolphins Foundation.
Shawn resides in Pembroke Pines, Florida with his wife, Marcia, and his children, Blake, Shane, Brooke, and Taiya.
